Let’s shed some light on heart disease and what you can do to help yourself and those you care about.
According to heart.org over 1000 people die EVERY DAY due to hypertension/high blood pressure. One of the first signs of heart disease is high blood pressure.
Most people are told that this is genetic, that nothing can be done to prevent it or reverse it, and that they must go on medication for the rest of their life.
Although this advice may be very profitable for the drug companies… This is simply NOT true!
According to a study published in May 2007 in the Journal of Human Hypertension (1) “a chiropractic adjustment was just as effective as not one, but two, blood pressure medications given together.”
Dr. Bakras, a medical doctor who was the lead researcher in the project and also the director of the Univ. of Chicago Hypertension Center further added “and it seems to be adverse free. We saw no side effects.” (2)
It’s nearly impossible to find a Western Medicine based solution that isn’t riddled with side effects. So, when we find a side effect free option – we would be wise to pay attention to it.
The 8 week study had half of the participants receive actual chiropractic adjustments while the other half received “sham” or fake adjustments. Those who received regular adjustments noticed a 14 hg mm drop in systolic and an 8 mm hg drop in diastolic.
Dr. Bakras further stated that he could not believe it when he was told the numbers. “It seemed too good to be true but when we checked everything there it was.”(2)
If you or someone you know suffers from high blood pressure and think medication it he only solution, please make an appointment with the chiropractor who shared this and find out how chiropractic can help you with so much more than just neck and low back pain.

How Is This Possible?
Let’s use some common sense and a bit of logic so we can confidently share this message of hope with friends and family, okay?
- Spinal stress occurs when the spine is misaligned, not moving properly, or both
- The stress from the spine is transferred to the nerves that run through channels inside the spine
- Nerve stress can cause blood vessels to abnormally constrict and thereby increase blood pressure
- A good Doctor of Chiropractic will locate and address the stress in the spine and nerves
- The reduction in neuro-spinal stress promotes a normalization effect in blood pressure
Pretty simple, right?
So, why is everyone medicating themselves senseless and ignoring the spine and nerve component?
Well, it has a lot to do with the fact that most people just don’t know what they don’t know. So, let’s fix that by educating ourselves and others, okay?
Now off course…
Other lifestyle factors would likely be considered and addressed by a good wellness-based Doctor of Chiropractic.
So, Here Is The Big Question
Knowing the aforementioned…
Should every person with blood pressure problems AT LEAST have their spine and nervous system checked?
Better yet…
Should every person that wants to AVOID having blood pressure problems and heart disease have their spine and nervous system checked?
Logic and common sense would say… YES!
